Chuck Close

More than just a painter, photographer, and printmaker, Chuck Close is a builder who, in his words, builds "painting experiences for the viewer." Highly renowned as a painter, Close is also a master printmaker, who has, over the course of more than 30 years, pushed the boundaries of traditional printmaking in remarkable ways.

Almost all of Close’s work is based on the use of a grid as an underlying basis for the representation of an image.

Jan Saudek: The Bond of Love

Jan Saudek’s imaginings draw on such opposition, forming a backdrop to the many questions raised by the human condition: love, and its cortege of unmentionable feelings (jealousy, voyeurisme the breaking of taboos, fetishism, the temptation of rĂ©gression), an obsessive awareness of passing time.

Will Tatto for $$$

Terry Gardner was among 30 of what the airline calls “cranial billboards.” For shaving their noggins and displaying the ad copy for two weeks in November, they received either a round-trip ticket to New Zealand (worth about $1,200) or $777 in cash (an allusion to the Boeing 777, a model in the airline’s fleet).

This is an example of tattoing going to far...Advertisin on the body...but what really gets me the most is the shaving of the head for a net worth of $1500...

Really?? Enough Said... I'm OWT!

Reaching Out

In light of the Chris Brown and Rhianna situation I feelt it neccessary to reach out to those women who may not speak out.....

For those who may not know, R&B star Chris Brown who was arrested last weekend on suspicion of attacking a woman widely believed to be the pop star Rhianna, on Sunday he was "sorry and saddened" about the incident, and was seeking counseling."Words cannot begin to express how sorry and saddened I am over what transpired. I am seeking the counseling of my pastor, my mother and other loved ones and I am committed, with God's help, to emerging a better person," Brown said in a statement issued through publicist Michael Sitrick.

Although, he may be remorseful with his situation, I've learned that those who are abusers follow the same routine, which begins with an apology...

For the many women out there this is for you....

Strength

Strength is what you have thats stronger than ever,
Strength is the only power that is stronger than any power of mankind
Strength is something that gives you the power to carry on
Strength gives you the the power to help someone you love
Strength is a power that you have within yourself

21 & Legal

The Center on Alcohol Marketing and Youth at Georgetown University collected images from alcohol ads it says could affect viewers under 21, because from the National Academy of Sciences, described how alcohol marketing does reach young audiences, and it laid out broad proposals to counter under-age drinking, including potential tax increases and a national ad campaign.

Hmmm...seems like the FDIC has been busted...we'll let the images speak for themselves.

IT'S FRIDAY THE 13TH!

Micheal Phelps has recorde a video apology to China, for recentlypublished pictures of him using a marijuanna pipe and thanking them for their support and forgiveness.

Graffiti Bandit

Sooo the person who designed/painted/ made the official Obama symbol has been arrested. They say he was, "in connection with his efforts posting his art in various areas around the city.”

Does crime not exist in the streets anymore?? What happened to the murders, robbers, kidnapers, why are we harboring over something so miscellaneous ad minor.

To be honest, I ♥ the Obama painting...and of course I have a shirt hanging up in the closet! lo...who doesn't?

Shameless plug: Shepard Fairy is also the artist in whom I will be doing my research!
