Drive by Art:

I was browsing through New York Times and came across this interesting Drive By ART that certain photographer shot while driving through the city of Los Angelos California.

Please stop psh yeah right--who can contain their phones from messaging not I!

With Barbara Kruger’s video, which ended with a message to “please stop texting” (before the state passed a law to this effect), the artist co-opted a bold direct-address technique associated with advertising to make drivers sit up in their vehicles.

To kick off Lance Armstrong’s coming Nike-sponsored benefit project with artists, Shepard Fairey created a huge mural of the cyclist on the side of the Montalban Theater in Los Angeles.

This winter, the New York artist Jacob Hashimoto unveiled an aluminum-tile, tapestry-like sculpture made for the façade of the Andaz Hotel in West Hollywood.

Two years ago, the Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama planted a bed of overgrown, colorful fiberglass and ceramic tulips in a Beverly Hills park visible from Santa Monica Boulevard and Rodeo Drive.

Take a look for more street art:

Radio Personality

Throughout my adventures through Commerce, Texas I stopped by our local radio station, 88.9 KETR home of Texas A&M University Commerce and interviewed myself....

Great Interview Tieranee!

What is Art Four??

Vaughn: What is Art for?... (Like if your into fashion, what is fashion for?)

Me: As I've stated before, art is the meaning of self-expression, the uniqueness in what you capture and what you represent and how you present it to other.

ART is PERSONALITY!!!!!!

Enter through Commerce...

So our last project was to drive to Paris, Texas and take photos that interest us (the class) individually.

Unfortunately, I didn't get the memo to for the 8:30 carpool so I showed up for regular class and worked on my blog like the studios person I am! (Oh yea Vaughn I did, I did)

Interestingly enough I was able to speak with Vaughn and take pics of my local town Commerce, Texas instead.

So me and my feet took an adventure with Golden Girl (my sister's car) and went on our way....

Along the way I made a few stops further throughout the what is called the  "Hole" of Commerce

Legacy Deliveries this wayy....

.:One-ON-One:.

Sooo, I had a one-ON-one with my professor the other about day about the level of commitment, and dedication given by students who are in Fraternity's and Sorority's.

He felt as though, organization as such, show contingency to the reality of education, they as he stated in so many ways that they interfere with students education.

Hmmmm....Interesting tidbit, is what I'm thinking??

Contrary to popular belief, Fraternity's and Sorority's support, encourage, and demand scholastic achievement--the negative connotation displayed, and spoken from his opinions--holds truth to the few who allow the social and interactive aspect of Greek organizations to interfere with their class work.

One's things for sure, I'm passionate, certain, and driven with and too the things that I make of my life. Setbacks (for me) lead to triumph, adversity and most of all RESILIENCE!

Joining an organization doesn't make you who you ARE, Why you ask?? Because, that factor among many determined your Acceptance. Therefore, I nor anyone, will interfere with my education--Persistence, Ambitions, Goals, and most of all Faith determines my Success!

.:Tieranee S. Jones:.

(((sreaming))) Why are YOU Blogging!!??!!

The purpose of this blog is to showcase my work from my photography, over 15 weeks we were challenged to take photos, some of ourselves, and the rest of our interest, unfortunately in midst of this 15 week episode I've LOST ALL! Of The Pics I've Done Thus Far.
---> Sad face Bummer??? I KNOW.
Fortunately enough, I feel I still have time with that being said over the next eight post I will reshoot, post, and speak about photos I've recently shot. SO that you can get a better feel of what interest me!

Its certain, I have an interest in FASHION! I love the sense of the Uniqueness in which we/I respresent self--as stated and defined below, "the way in which we manner ourselves."

So as I begin to post, I will show images, places, and etc, that showcast that specific manner--Uniqueness.

Personal Statement

A prevailing custom of my own style and personality manners the way in which I showcase my work. My passion is the state of style and uniqueness . I’m interested in how we as humans fashion LIFE through our very own sense of style. LIFE is the essence of all things, and FASHION is the socializing style I possess. Creating a sense of my own style speaks through the images in which I capture.

How do I define FASHION?? Look below...

FASH-ION (fas-uh n)

–noun

1. a prevailing custom or style of dress, etiquette, socializing,

2. manner; way; mode

4. the make or form of anything:

5. a kind; sort--All fashions of people make up the world.

Mark Borthwick--I had to post him!

THE fashion photographer Mark Borthwick, whose images have appeared in provocative magazines like Purple, Self Service and Italian Vogue, has always had an unorthodox approach to his work.
“I like to take the fashion out it,” he said. “And make it more human.” Which is to say, he eschews airbrushed glamour for a kind of carefree, sun-soaked innocence; not surprisingly, his new book, aptly titled “Not in Fashion,” is more akin to a journal than a glossy Rizzoli monograph.
It features photos that span his two-decade career, including early fashion shots of a baby-faced Chloë Sevigny (left) and Angela Lindvall (slide 3).
The pages are littered with newspaper clippings, hand-scrawled notes and family photos intentionally blown out by overexposing the film.

The Two Most Infamous Citites: I ♥ these places

Los Angeles & New York
With fashion, art, film, television, and music, and soo much more behind their belt. There's no need to find a vacation spot that brings quality entertainment.
Above are maps from a study, called “The Geography of Buzz.”
The authors, Elizabeth Currid, an assistant professor in the School of Policy, Planning and Development at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, and Sarah Williams, the director of the Spatial Information Design Lab at Columbia University‘s Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation, mined thousands of photographs from Getty Images that chronicled flashy parties and smaller affairs on both coasts for a year, beginning in March 2006. The maps show the density of different types of cultural events in New York and Los Angeles.
I posted these photos because these are two cities of which, I look forward to residing in, they show a sense of personality and vibrancy with just colorful dots. Similarities and characteristics of which, I, Myself possess.
(Smiling....hehehe..I know I'm conceited--at least their not photos of me)

August 5, 1986: I'm a LEO

For some odd reason I felt the need to post my Zodiac Sign for the day and month--Heyy!? I was feeling myself...

For Wednesday, April 1 -You are holding yourself to exceptionally high standards right now -- but if you are getting frustrated with yourself for not meeting them, then you need to consider changing them. Having more modest goals will ensure that your success rate increases. And besides, don't you think that it's time you gave yourself a break? Today, picture where you want to be just three months from now -- not ten years! An easier plan will get you thinking more positively.

I guess it is what it is! Maybe planning for short term goals is the most sufficient for the moment.

A David Hockney Piece

David Hockney (b. 1937), British painter, draughtsman, printmaker, photographer, designer, and the best-known British artist of his generation.

In the eighties, Hockney turned to photo collage. Using a Polaroid camera, Hockney would assemble collages of photos that he would take as quickly as possible.

Through the EYES of Self Portraits

The self-portrait can be an image of how we think we appear, how we wish we appear to others, or even a disguise. Other such images may not be so much about how we look but an attempt to sketch an emotion, or a moment of light and color. It can serve as a cathartic release, as a reminder to ourselves, an invitation to the viewer, or a way of creating a mystery. It can show us aspects of ourselves we cannot otherwise see. Perhaps we can even explain to ourselves that which we could not otherwise bear. Bravery is as much a part of self portraiture as deceit.
As Laura Kicey and my Professor Vaughn states,
A self-portrait can be achieved without the use of the photographer's face, or even a part of the body. How we present ourselves, whether it is represented with a macro of our eye or the palm of our hand, can be as revelatory about our true natures as a more formal portrait. The means we use to create a public 'face' for ourselves, and how we build upon this image to tell our story, is the real challenge of self portraiture.

Chuck Close

More than just a painter, photographer, and printmaker, Chuck Close is a builder who, in his words, builds "painting experiences for the viewer." Highly renowned as a painter, Close is also a master printmaker, who has, over the course of more than 30 years, pushed the boundaries of traditional printmaking in remarkable ways.

Almost all of Close’s work is based on the use of a grid as an underlying basis for the representation of an image.

Jan Saudek: The Bond of Love

Jan Saudek’s imaginings draw on such opposition, forming a backdrop to the many questions raised by the human condition: love, and its cortege of unmentionable feelings (jealousy, voyeurisme the breaking of taboos, fetishism, the temptation of régression), an obsessive awareness of passing time.
